The Caffeine Debate! Good or Not?
The world of diabetics and non diabetics alike wake up to that fresh smelling aroma of a cup of java. There are millions of people that drink coffee everyday. Regular coffee drinkers have reported that they might drink at least 2-3 cups of coffee everyday. And the power drinkers will admit to drinking it every chance that they can get. (3-6) cups of “Joe” per day.
With that being said.. What are the medical experts saying about coffee and its wonderfully magical powers? Some say that it is not good for you because it can decrease insulin sensitivity and impair glucose tolerance. Not to mention is constricts your blood vessels. Some medical experts say that typically, a person that drinks 6 or more cups of coffee face a lower risk of diabetes than a person that is drinking 2 cups or less.
So what impression are you supposed to take from all of these so called studies. You know that not to long ago, cigarettes were said to not be a cancer causing agent. And the world believed that! It was also okay to have alcoholic beverages when a female was in one of the critical stages of pregnancy. And now that is shunned upon, but you can have a glass of wine!
As we look to the medical community for all the answers, who is giving us the facts and who is giving us the”consumer” the runaround. Because after all it is all about the money.
So for now I will stick to water in the morning and stimulants will have to wait.
